Troubleshooting: Poly Evolver Rack

The list below provides solutions to some of the most common tech support issues. The Poly Evolver Rack is a deep instrument. If you are having problems with your Evolver and suspect that operator error might be to blame, the Global parameters are a good place to start. The default settings for the Global parameters are as follows:

Tempo (BPM): 120
Clock Div: Eighth
Transpose: 0
Detune: 0
MIDI Channell: All
Poly Chain: Off
Clock: Internal
Prog Tempo: On
Input Gain: 6 dB
LCD Contrast: 16

There is no hardware reset on the Poly Evolver Rack, but the factory programs are available for download.

If one of the analog waveshapes sounds strange or if a filter is not behaving as expected, you may also want to try running the calibration routine. This is not something you should have to do regularly (or ever, really) and has no effect on the oscillator tuning. To run the calibration routine, hold down Reset and press Global.

I'm poly chaining a Poly Evolver Rack to a Poly Evolver Keyboard for expanded polyphony. All the voices play, but it doesn't sound right.
Make sure the same programs are loaded into each Poly Evolver. The easiest way to do that is via MIDI. Starting with the Poly Evolver with the programs you want to use, connect a MIDI cable to MIDI Out. Connect the other end of the cable to MIDI In on the other Poly Evolver. Then, on the first Poly Evolver, initiate a data dump (typically everything) from the Global menu.

If you're certain that the same programs reside in both and it still doesn't seem to be working properly (for example, odd transpositions or control issues) make sure the operating systems are up to date in both instruments.
